Job Description:

The Claims Representative is responsible for accurately identifying insurance claims denials and/or claims processing errors in order to resolve aged accounts receivables.


• Timely management of a work queue consisting of approximately 600 accounts
• Analysis of account notes, UB04s, CMS-1500s, EOBs, contracts
• Follow up with insurance carrier via phone/fax and/or website
• Follow up with physician and/or patient for additional documentation
• Submission of additional documentation to challenge claim decision.


• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 - 5 years relevant industry experience in resolution of aged healthcare receivables.


• Working knowledge of revenue cycle process
• Proficient in disputing insurance carrier claim decisions
• Fluent in interpretation of contract language
• Successful history of resolving insurance denials on account balances up to $25,000
• Experience working with HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Compensation, Personal Injury carriers
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Organizational skills
• Persistence, curiosity and the ability to conduct detailed research
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong math aptitude
• Able to prioritize and manage a myriad of tasks at once
• Team- oriented, but able to work independently.
