About the Job

Ruhl Mortgage is seeking a full-time Mortgage Compliance Officer to join its team of professionals. The person in this position will serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all mortgage lending compliance laws and regulations. Responsible for staying on top of new regulations and changes to existing regulations. Communicate with senior management to ensure proper implementation of established compliance policies and procedures.

The duties of the position include:

Perform research and analysis related to compliance practices, policies, and procedures.
Develop, implement and monitor mortgage lending compliance programs
Review internal policies to ensure they align with external regulations
Work with regulators, examiners, and company employees to serve as a liaison between regulatory agencies and the company on certain regulatory and compliance matters
Serve as company contact with outside quality control and compliance vendor services
Review vendor relationships and contracts for compliance
Identify risks and implement solutions to maintain compliance in mortgage lending operations
Initiate or recommend an investigative process in response to complaints of policy or procedural violation and develop systems for handling and resolution of policy violations
Prepare and administer internal quality control testing, analyze the results thereof, provide appropriate follow up direction toaddress findings and confirm resolution of issues going forward
Monitor the operations and procedures of the different business units to ensure overall compliance
Provide reports on a regular basis to senior management and board members to keep them updated on progress of compliance operations
Understand and become familiar with software applications used by Ruhl Mortgage through hands-on exploration and colaboration with appropriate business personnel
Integrate all new and changed rules and regulations into the current servicing platform
Oversee license applications, renewals and related activities to ensure timely and accurate filings
Coordinate the development of and/or creation or modification of loan documents, forms, letters, and disclosures as determined by regulatory and legislative changes
Prepare and monitor training materials; administer and track training
Participate in seminars, conferences, and workshops to improve job knowledge
Other duties as assigned


Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and/or equivalent training and experience
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in mortgage lending and servicing compliance preferred
Excellent understanding of federal and state laws and regulations and ability to analyze same
Above average accounting and statistics principles
Excellent computer skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to demonstrate a strong desire to satisfy internal and external customers by displaying superior customer service skills
Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
Autonomous, self-starter with great drive
Ability to adapt to the needs of the business including ability to plan for contingencies and anticipate problems and identify risks
Exceptional follow-up skills
Effective multitasking skills; specifically, being able to manage multiple priorities and projects daily
Strong Technical Skills
