About the Job

The Director of Business Development raises support for and advances Lake Area United Way's impact work in the community. The individual in this position must be an energetic fundraiser with a successful track record of qualifying, cultivating, soliciting/closing, and stewarding annual and major gifts (5 and 6 figures) while building and sustaining relationships with volunteers, donors, and prospects. This position reports to the VP of Community Impact & Resource Development and will be responsible for growing revenue through existing campaign account assignments and affinity groups, as well as securing new grants, workplace campaigns and other corporate and individual gifts and sponsorships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Retains and grows Lake Area United Way donors and giving levels through workplace campaign, individual giving and affinity group membership. Actively seeks new individual donors and volunteers, workplace campaigns, corporate gifts and sponsorships that align with our issue work and affinity groups. Grows new revenue through corporate foundation grants and other non-campaign funds including but not limited to sponsorships. Manages and leverages fundraising volunteers. Meets or exceeds targets for contacts, monthly solicitations and gifts closed. Provides necessary support for organization-wide community impact, engagement or fundraising events. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 830a to 5p. This position requires additional hours and weekend work.
