The Shipping Clerk performs shipping and receiving tasks, including receiving items, preparing items for shipment, verifying shipment condition, and keeping computer records.

Unpacks, inspects, and routes incoming shipments
Identifies damaged items and shortages, and communicates with shipper to rectify issues; reports defective materials and other issues to the department supervisor
Receives and processes defective parts returned for replacement or credit
Operates dolly, pallet jack, and forklift in loading and unloading, conveying, moving, and lifting materials to appropriate areas
Operates stretch wrap banders
Uses computer programs to track shipments
Schedules pick-up by carriers specified on purchase orders
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Keeps the work area and equipment clean and orderly and follows safety rules


High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum one year of experience in shipping and receiving in an industrial setting
Licensed forklift truck operator
Good computer skills
Good verbal communication skills
Ability to read and write English and use basic math
Good organization skills
Good time management skills
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Team orientation
